Mike Baker for South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner

South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner – Why vote for me?

I retired from South Wales Police 15 years ago, having served for 30 years in many areas throughout UK, retiring as a sergeant. I regularly attended local user group meetings with the public to obtain their views and concerns

On retiring I returned to university and studied for a BA (hons) degree in business studies with Company Finance and Accounting. I followed that with a Post Grad diploma in Law and qualified as a Barrister. I then cross qualified as a Solicitor and Commercial Mediator and practiced as a Higher Rights Solicitor for the next eight years…As a Lawyer I again regularly attended at user group meetings between South Wales Police, Probation, Crown Prosecution, Victim Support, Prison and the Courts.

I have all the experience necessary for the post of South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner.

I am not connected in any way to any political party. I have always voted according to the person not the party, if a strong candidate comes forward and appears to know what he / she is doing they get my vote…I ask that you look at the person and not the party.

There is a place for politicians and that place is in our elected chambers (WAG or The Commons) you must vote your conscience regarding the WAG, but I ask that you put aside political allegiance for the South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner election and view it as outside party politics.

My Father once said to me

‘It’s alright to think about what you want to do, but a time must come when you must do what you were meant to do’

This is what I was meant to do
